Independent courts protect our liberties. Can I prove that? Of course I can!
We all get the same liberties and we have independent courts. We’re also all
treated equally under the law.
First, we all get the same liberties. What if a policeman just came up and
proceeded to search you? If we didn’t have the same liberties, someone could
do that. Luckily, they can’t unless they have permission from the judge.
You can’t have more than one trial either. If someone kept having trial after
trial on the same subject, you’d be waiting eighty years before the judge could
even think about seeing yours! Everyone and anyone who goes to court are
innocent until proven guilty. If you were at court and people kept calling
you guilty, they’re wrong. You’re still innocent until the judge or jury says
otherwise. Aren’t you glad we all get equal rights and the same great
liberties?
Second, what would we do without our independent courts? With them, all our
judges and juries have to be impartial. No one can bribe or threaten them into
doing anything, but what the judges and juries think. Also, the procedures in
the court go the same for everyone. When you’re in court no one can make you
testify against yourself. See, don’t we have the best independent courts?
Last, but not least, I’ll explain how we all are treated equally under the law.
Here’s an example. It doesn’t matter whether you’re rich or poor; everyone
gets a defense and a lawyer. If you didn’t have the money to hire a lawyer,
the court would appoint one for you so it’s a fair trial. Also, if the
President of the United States had a nephew on trial and asked the judge to
find him innocent, the judge wouldn’t do that. It wouldn’t be fair to the
person prosecuting him. What if the nephew really was guilty? It doesn’t
matter whether you’re famous or the President of the United States; we’re all
treated equally under the law.
In conclusion, we all get the same liberties, we have great independent courts,
and we are all treated equally under the law. Yes, independent courts protect
our liberties!
