MGM Studios, My Favorite Place

“Daddy, are you sure we’re going to my most favorite place in the whole, entire, super static universe?”

“Yep, it will be you and me going to Disney’s MCM Studios.”

“Yah Hoo,” I shouted.

“Sure, I’ll bring Yoo Hoo in the cooler for us to drink”.

My dad doesn’t understand nine-year old expressions but at least he knows how to pack lunch.

My most favorite place in the world is MGM Studios because of their awesome food and exciting rides.

“Sorry, sweetie. The road is jammed and it will probably be another half hour until we get there.”

“That’s OK. I guess I’ll just site here and read my Bible.”

Finally, we got there. When me and my dad got out of the car, the trolley was about to leave. We ran as fast as we could but it left and, at the end, we saw two open seats. We tried to scream, “Stop”, but the person driving was too busy saying the “hands-and-feet-in-the-trolley” speech and all the other safety talks. Me and my dad experimented with waiting. But, after twenty minutes, we figured they were on a lunch break. We walked up to the ticket booth. It was $50 for my dad and $35 for me. Luckily, we had passes from his birthday.

It was so awesome. Me and my dad had a great time. My favorite ride was the Rockin Roller Coaster. I felt like I was losing my voice I screamed so loud. It’s when you are in the dark and you ride through really fast with a whole bunch of lighted up signs.

“Daddy, let’s go to the Tower of Terror now”, I shouted when I was half way there!

“Good, there’s barely a line”, my dad said.

The Tower of Terror is a fake elevator ride that goes up about 20 levels and then lets you free fall. “Don’t get scared now”, my dad joked when we sat down. “Yeh, right, like you don’t get scared”, I told him back.

The ride started. We went up slowly. My dad squeezed my leg. I screamed and everyone stared at me. “Go ahead and look at me but I’m not wacko”, I told everyone (that I had never met). All of a sudden we flew down faster than lightning! Then we flew back up. Then when we were in the middle of dropping, we had an urgent stop. Over the intercom in the elevator they said, “Everyone stay calm, something has gone wrong and we are going to call the electricians. Stay seated and keep your hands away from the window. That is all.”

"Daddy, I didn’t know there was a window.”

“There isn’t,” he replied.

“Daddy, look there’s an emergency button. Maybe I can push it. Man, I can’t reach it.”

Someone tapped me on the shoulder. “I have an umbrella.”

“Thanks”, I replied. I pushed it. But nothing happened.

“Good try but the electricity must have gone out”, my dad said in a worry.

I sat there to think. “Wait, I have another idea. Maybe we can all jump up and down and try to make it move.” All of a sudden, I wished I hadn’t said that. Everyone started saying, “Yeah, yeah, let’s do it.”

Believe it or not, it was starting to work a little. We were a quarter away from being half way there when it didn’t work anymore. Everyone sighed and sat back down. All of a sudden the intercom came on, “Everyone, thank you for being so patient. Make sure your straps are over your chest and your seatbelt is buckled. You will be going down in a minute. That is all.”

Everyone started shouting “hooray” and “yippy hoo ha” in joy and glee. “Do you want to go home or stay here for another 30 minutes before they close?” my dad asked. “Let’s get some Rockin fries and then go home,” I replied. “OK”, my dad chuckled.

My favorite place is MGM Studios because of their rides and food, but today (pause) definitely wasn’t my favorite time there. (But the Rocking Roller fries were good!)
