One of the special people in my life is my mommy. When I need help on my
homework, she’s right there for me (unless she is at a council meeting).
Another thing about my mother is she lets me borrow things of hers.
One afternoon my sister, mommy and me got out of the car and in the house.
I went straight to the snacks.) My mother always lets us rest before we start
homework. I wanted to get a head start so maybe I could play with Kristin and
Allison. First, I did my reading and time tables. (Hey, they were the easiest).
When I was done with that part of my homework, I went to Spelling. There was a
part where you had to read this short little paragraph and give 8 words that
were not spelled right. So, I did find 6 but I could not find anymore so I
went to my mommy and asked her, “Will you help me on my homework?” She replied
“Is the rest of your work done?”
“No.”
“Then go do what you can do on the rest then come back and give it to me all
together. OK?”
“OK.”
So, I went back to do the rest of Spelling and Math. So, I went back to my
mother and she told me to read the words slow and careful. I went back and
did that and I found the words! Just by giving me advice, she helped me on my
homework and let me play with my friends.
My mommy lets me borrow some stuff of hers. One morning my hair was very
extremely tangly and I had run out of detangler! (even my bangs were sticking
up in the air). So, there I was, staring into the mirror looking like Tina
Turner with wild hair all knotty and weird looking. I put a shower cap on
so maybe she would not see how bad I looked. I said, “Mommy can I use your
detangler?”
“Because I need it.”
So, I took it off and
she said, “Oh, my word,” stared at my hair, gave me the detangler and said
“and take some hair gel with you”. (When I went out of the room, I saw her
blink about a million times). It wasn’t the most exciting thing to see her
do, but at least she let me borrow the detangler and gel. And the other night my pajamas were all dirty, so she gave me a T-shirt to wear.
I kept tripping over it and falling on my face but it was something to
wear.
My mommy is special to me in lots of special ways.
