Once when I was in second grade I came home from school and I did my homework.
Then, I suffered through a terrible dinner. (I would rather of had pizza). I
asked my mom if I could see if Kristin and Ally could play. She said yes.
I rode my bike quickly over to their house. Mrs. Kim, their mom, said they
could play. After they got their bikes, we started riding around my house.
When we rode our bikes to the Pink House and back to my house, my
mom was washing her car. The hose went across the driveway and Kristin, Ally
and I rode over it a couple of times. Right then something terrible happened.
My bike got caught and tangled and I went SPLAT! My mom heard me and came
running over to see if I was OK. Right away my wrist and arm was getting
purple and swollen. My mom slowly walked me into the house. I could tell she
was worried. She put a sheet on the couch and helped me lay on it. She
carefully picked my arm up and looked at it. My arm was very, very extremely
purple. My mom put my arm back very carefully and called the arm doctor. She
said to make a little splint for now and come to the arm doctor tomorrow.
It became dark and my mom helped me in bed. She kissed me goodnight, hugged me
and went to bed. (I’m sure she was still worried.) Soon it was morning and we
were on our way to the arm doctor. When we got there we asked a lady where to
go and she told us to go to the waiting room. When they called my name we went
in and they took x-rays of my arm. They said my arm was broken and to go to a
place where you get casts.
I was crying and thinking that nobody would like me anymore. When we got there
my mom signed me in and we went to the waiting room. When they called my name
we went in a room and a guy asked me what color I wanted. I said, “What do you
have?”. My mom laughed “Ha! Ha! Ha!”. I looked at the choices and picked the
one with all kinds of different colors. He then got this big, thick, sticky
looking thing and stuck it in water and then rapped it around my arm. Then he
put cotton there and this time the big, thick, sticky looking thing had
color. After that he put a sling on my arm.
Then we checked out of the building and went home – me and my cast and sling and
my mom a lot less worried.
